The Paradox of Abundance

Hello, Friend!

Yet another wonderful community day this weekend! In no time at all we cleared the hoop houses to plant cover crop, and we got to dig around for potatoes and pull up some beets.

After months of planting and nurturing, it's always great to get to the point in the season when there's more to harvest. And soon, we'll be harvesting piles of veggies multiple times a week -- an abundant return for all of our work.

The majority of our meals will consist of what we've grown. We'll preserve what we can to fill our shelves and freezer. The fridge will be packed and countertop baskets overflowing.

But you know when we feel the most abundant? When we give it away.

To be honest, there's a point later in the summer when, despite all we're harvesting, the focus can shift to the opposite of abundance -- a lack of time to preserve food, a lack of space to put it all, a lack of desire to eat yet another salad. But sharing always feels abundant.

What can you share this week with others, to experience this abundance for yourself?

Big thanks to Rina, Annie, Rayana, Jillian (all above) + Srini, Amy, Jaikai, and Susan for all of your help and good cheer on Saturday!
